2019 BMW i8 Roadster First Look

When it debuted for the 2014 model year, the BMW i8 wowed us with its carbon-fiber construction, swing-up doors and its high-performance plug-in hybrid powertrain. It was BMW's showcase for maximizing performance while simultaneously minimizing environmental impact. Five model years later, BMW has rolled out an updated 2019 BMW i8 that features improved hybrid power components as well as a new convertible model called the i8 Roadster.

2018 Nissan Kicks First Look

The 2018 Nissan Kicks just made its world debut at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. A subcompact crossover, the Kicks will be similar in size to rivals such as the Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3 and Toyota C-HR. Even though prices aren't set just yet, we're assured it will be competitive within this class. In all likelihood, that means it will start in the low $20,000s for the base Kicks S model. Other trim levels will include an SV and SR.

Subaru unveils 2019 Ascent, its largest SUV

This is the 2019 Subaru Ascent, an all-new sport utility vehicle and the largest Subaru has ever built. The Ascent, which replaces the Subaru Tribeca that ended production three years ago, will be manufactured at Subaru’s plant in Lafayette, Ind., and arrive on dealers’ lots early next summer.

Names are officially back at Lincoln as the 2019 Nautilus replaces the MKX

One of the many complaints about the Lincoln brand over the past decade was the decision to drop model names in favor of meaningless three-letter alphabetic names starting with MK. When Lincoln revived the Continental nameplate last year as a replacement for the MKS, it was unclear if this was to be a one-off decision for the big sedan. This week, ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show, Lincoln Motor Company president Kumar Galhotra confirmed that the MK names are indeed going away across the lineup with the MKX set to become the Nautilus starting with the 2019 model year.

Infiniti unveiled an SUV with a breakthrough new engine

Infiniti has pulled the wraps off of its newest luxury SUV, the QX50, at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show on Tuesday night. The QX50 adds to Infiniti’s already robust SUV lineup, but the newest version features the first production-ready example of Infiniti’s new, variable compression ratio engine, better known as the VC-Turbo.

2018 Jeep Wrangler sheds pounds, increases tech

The All New Jeep Wrangler that will be unveiled Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show is the familiar, boxy, seven slot-grille descendent of the World War II Willys Jeep. But underneath, the Wrangler has been upgraded to a thoroughly 21st century machine with an available, hybrid, turbocharged powertrain, large touchscreen console display and 200-pound weight-loss program.
